How to create a Sonic token?

Sonic is what Fantom became. Same team, completely re-architected execution and storage layers (SonicVM and SonicDB), 10,000+ TPS with sub-second finality, and gas fees under $0.01. The chain also runs the most aggressive developer revenue-share program in EVM crypto - Fee Monetization, or FeeM, which returns up to 90% of gas fees from your contracts back to you as the developer.

The Fantom history matters more than you'd think

If your project had a token on Fantom Opera, redeploy on Sonic. The two chains coexist but Fantom is being wound down: FTM migrated to S 1:1 through the official upgrade portal, most active dApps and tokens have already moved, and bridging continues only to drain remaining value. There's no automatic continuity between a Fantom Opera contract and Sonic - you redeploy fresh through 20lab and announce the migration to your holders. For new launches in 2025+, Sonic is unambiguously the right choice; the Fantom brand still surfaces in old documentation but it's effectively legacy at this point.

FeeM as a meaningful revenue source

This is the part most chains don't have. Sonic's Fee Monetization program treats developers as economic stakeholders: register your contract addresses through the official FeeM portal after deployment, and you start earning a share of the gas fees your contracts generate. For a token with active trading and frequent transfers, this is real revenue - not a points program, not a future airdrop, just a slice of fees that would otherwise go to validators. High-throughput tokens (active DEX pairs, gaming assets, anything with frequent on-chain activity) benefit most. It's worth modeling expected revenue based on your projected transaction volume before deploying anywhere else.

Deployment, listing, and distribution

Connect a wallet, add chain ID 146 if Sonic isn't preconfigured, and configure your Sonic token through 20lab. Pick whichever optional features fit - mintable, pausable, transfer taxes, or anti-bot cooldowns. The official Sonic Gateway is the canonical bridge to and from Ethereum. SpookySwap and Shadow Exchange are the leading native DEXes - both have benefited from active incentive programs that rewarded LPs through the chain's launch period. Use the Sonic add liquidity tool to create your initial pair, distribute via the Sonic multisender, and submit to CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.

Want to Generate Specific Token?

Choose the type of token from table below:

Sonic has extremely low gas costs - deployment usually runs well under $0.10 in S plus a 20lab service fee shown on the summary before you confirm.

Fantom Opera and Sonic coexist as separate chains, but Fantom is being wound down. The FTM token migrated to S on a 1:1 basis through the official upgrade portal, and most active dApps and tokens have moved or are bridging to Sonic. If your project has an old Fantom token, you'll want to redeploy on Sonic and announce the migration to your holders rather than expecting automatic continuity.

Sonic's Fee Monetization (FeeM) program returns up to 90% of gas fees generated by your contracts back to you as the developer. This is unique among major chains - you literally earn revenue based on how much your contracts are used. For high-throughput tokens (active trading, frequent transfers), this can become a meaningful income stream. You opt in by registering your contract addresses through the official FeeM portal after deployment.

The standard set is mintable, pausable, and ERC-2612 permit. Add anti-bot cooldowns for retail launches. If you're launching a memecoin, see our memecoin creation guide for the typical feature combination. Each feature guide covers tradeoffs.

SpookySwap and Shadow Exchange are Sonic's leading DEXes. Use the Sonic add liquidity tool to create a pair, distribute to early holders with the Sonic multisender, and submit to CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.
